iConnect Asia

The core of the re-newed iConnect will be a series of locally written, qualitative articles on the impact and the use of ICTs for Development. The articles will have a strong focus on fact finding; objective info on ICT4D from a southern perspective. The articles will be disseminated primarily to local and international policymakers to inform them about the opportunities ICTs have to offer to Development.

Publishing of the iConnect Articles on the regional level takes place via 'regional' partners that have already established knowledge sharing activities. For Africa the regional iConnect partner and coordinators have been established in 2004.

In Asia iConnect will have one regional partner who will disseminate the articles via existing channels and publications. This is the i4d online magazine http://www.i4donline.net/ .

i4d

The i4d (Information For Development) print magazine is one its kind, and is intended to provide a much-needed platform for exchange of information, ideas, opinions and experiences, both inside and outside the Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) sector. While several electronic publications do currently exist, i4d is perhaps the first that addresses the need by utilizing the strength and potential of the print media.

i4d has a circulation of about 5000 print copies, of which 2500 are distributed within India and 1500 overseas, across Asia, Europe, Latin America and Africa. Besides regular circulation, i4d is distributed at major national and international conferences / workshops on ICT4D.
