Description:
Developed by CTA together with the German Centre for Documentation and Information in Agriculture, Anancy is a trilingual Web portal (English, French and Portuguese) developed in response to the growing demand for information from CTA’s staff and ACP partners.
On this website, you will find the full texts of CTA workshops, studies, technical publications, rural radio dossiers produced by CTA and downloadable in MP3 format, as well as information produced by other CTA platforms (Agritrade, ICT Update, Knowledge for Development), and of course articles from Spore which can easily be found by entering key words. Collecting information has been a gradual process. CTA’s entire collection of publications was first digitalised, together with other sources of information generated by the Centre’s programmes.
Convinced that it is important to give access to the information systems as well as to the information itself, Anancy has set up a number of links to CTA partners:
- the gateway to development information (ELDIS),
- Europe’s Forum on International Cooperation (EUFORIC )
- and The European Information System on Agricultural Research for Development (EARD Infosys+)
The latest information from all these systems automatically appears on Anancy. Search engines such as Google have been adapted to the site, so that users can conduct simultaneous searches on several specialised Web portals to look for information on important issues such as food security and biotechnology.
CTA is also working to extend the Access to Global Online Research in Agriculture (AGORA) portal, which offers access to international scientific journals and other publications on agricultural and rural development, to ACP countries.
