UnMundo América Latina (UMAL) celebrates the launch of the new portal www.un-mundo.org.

www.un-mundo.org has been redesigned with the objective of being a more useful portal that better responds to the socio-political context and culture of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Some changes highlighted:

  • The new sections in the portal include a section on Solidarity Economy/ (economía solidaria /in Spanish), and within this section the sub-categories of organic agriculture and food sovereignty, among others.
  • The Human Rights section that has been part of UMAL's identity since the beginning has been adapted to meet regional needs, including the sub-categories of political persecution, labour rights, and gender equity.
  • More emphasis is given to the Environment section, focusing on climate change, environmental exploitation and other categories.
  • The War and Peace section has been expanded to include information produced by partners on themes such as Survivors' Memory, the Criminalization of Social Struggles, the Remilitarization of the Region, etc.
  • The new section titled Citizens' Observatory includes the categories of Impunity, Social Movements and Organizations, Protests and Transparency, as well as the Political category that existed in our previous portal.
  • The News from Partners section will continue to be a space where UnMundo partners can communicate news specifically about the activities of their organizations (election of Boards, announcements of upcoming events, opening of new locations, etc.)
