Sector: Education

InfoDev and the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) have released a second set of draft country reports from the on-going Survey of ICT and Education in Africa (www.infodev.org/en/Project.7.html), a comprehensive study surveying the current landscape of ICT in education initiatives in Africa. Working with teams of country and regional researchers and in collaboration with numerous partner organizations, infoDev and COL are attempting to gather together in a single omnibus resource the most relevant and useful information on ICT in education activities in Africa.

Working drafts from 41 individual country reports are now available for public review and comment on the WikiEducator web site at www.wikieducator.org/ICT4AfricaEd/Country_Reports. (A "wiki" is a collaborative website whose content can be edited by anyone who views it.) Based on public comments, it is expected that amended draft reports will be available by the end of April 2007. Final country reports, together with a series of short thematic surveys, will be posted later this year.

More complete background on this project is available on the related project page on the infoDev web site, infodev.org/ict4edu-Africa.
