The Ghana Information and Knowledge Sharing Network (GINKS, www.ginks.org) is a constitution of a broad range of people drawn from various fields of endeavour but mainly involved in Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) and sustainable development.
GINKS exists as a linchpin that streamlines all disjointed ICT projects, initiatives and programs in a way that provides solutions to challenges and problems in the ICT environment. This the network seeks to undertake through networking, information and knowledge sharing among all stake holders; conducting research; publicity and advocacy.
The focus of GINKS as a network is to use ICT as a tool for poverty alleviation by facilitating the work of network members and encouraging knowledge sharing on ICT for Development. Currently the focus is on two thematic areas namely: Health and Agriculture with Education and Gender as cross cutting themes.
The GINKS network recently started a web log called "GINKS ICT4D stories in Ghana" http://ginks.blogspot.com/index.html. Here you can find interesting views being expressed by a mix of people active in the field ICT4D.
